The ancient and novel land

There is a vast green plain south of Beijing and east of Taihang mountains．Here, a lot of famous Chinese personages, such as Qin Shihuang (the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty), Dong Zhong-shu (a well-known philosopher of the Han Dynasty), Liu Bei (the first emperor of  the the Shu-Han kingdom) and Zhang Fei and Zhao yun (royal and valiant generals of Shu-Han kingdom), Zhao Kuang-yin (the first emperor of  the Song Dynasty), Guo Shou-jing(a distinguished scientist of the Yuan Dynasty) were born. Along with Qin Shihuang, the most famous Chinese emperor, who was born in the capital of Zhao kingdom Handan, many famous Chinese doctors were born here as well, for example, Bian Que, Liu Wan-su, Li Dong-yuan, Wang Qing-ren. Bian Que was a well-known doctor in Chinese history who flourished more than 2,400 years ago. The marvelous story of his curing the strange diseases of Zhao Jian-zi, the ancestor of the Zhao kingdom, and of Prince Guo, have been acclaimed by people all over China for more than 2,000 years. His classic medical works“Nanjing” (“Book on Difficult questions ”), a book containing answers to 81 knotty questions, established the basis of traditional Chinese medicine.

   Shijiazhuang City is situated just in the middle of the great plaine and south of Beijing. It is the home town of many distinguished Chinese, such as Zhao Tuo, the first king of the South-Yue kingdom and the pioneer of developing South China more than 2200 years ago; Wei Zheng , a celebrated prime minister in the Tang Dynasty, Zhang Xiao-lou ,a well-known modern doctor who discovered the trachoma virus. Liu Xiu, a famous emperor of the Han Dynasty, who established the basis of his ambitious empire, the East- Han, ascended the throne here. A lot of myth stories about Liu Xiu have been on everyone’s lips for 2000 years everywhere in the plain far and wide.

Now in this ancient and great land, Dr Liu Kun-shen, a well-known medical professor, cardiologist and expert of traditional Chinese medicine, has been devoted to the study of the prevention and treatment of the advanced end-stage refractory heart failure by means of a combination of modern cardiology and the traditional Chinese medicine. He has been exploring the cure of knotty serious heart failure for more than 20 years. Recently, he published his works “The Road of Curing and Preventing Heart Failure”(Peking University Medical Press). Mr.Wu, a 83-year-old retiree in the city police office, suffered from old anterior myocardial infarction and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease for many years and serious heart failure and diluent hyponatremia seven years ago.
